Do you use a Social Media Management tool like Hootsuite but are dissatisfied with it? Does everyone seem to love it but you can’t seem to like it?
Perhaps you’re sitting on the edge and you don’t exactly “hate” what you’re using. But you could definitely use something better.
Being a business owner myself, I know how important it is for the tools you use to fit into your team’s workflow.
Using the wrong tool can not only make you frustrated and stressed, but they can also lower your team’s productivity, create conflicts and miscommunications in your team, and cause you setbacks.
For example, I know that a lot of people LOVE Hootsuite. But I hated it. The multiple streams left me confused. The same happened with Tweetdeck. The multiple columns design just did not suit me and my team. And there’s no point pretending it does, even if hundreds of thousands of people out there love it.
Ultimately, who’s going to suffer but you?
That’s why I’m very cautious about the tools I use now. If I sign up for a tool and I forget about it for a week or two, I know that it doesn’t fit me.
For example, after trying out both AdEspresso and Qwaya, I know how they’d fit into my workflow perfectly. I use AdEspresso when I need to split test my Ads and Qwaya if I need to manage my full-scale campaigns productively.
I’ve tried several other tools, which I shall not name here - but they just fell short of what I needed in terms of user experience.
So if you’ve been thinking about changing the Social Media Management tool that you’ve been using, perhaps you can take a look at an infographic published by Ian Anderson Gray (see below) which I found to be quite interesting.
In this infographic, Agorapulse, which is the tool that I’ve been using for the last 2 years, was ranked favourably for several attributes:
- 1st in User Satisfaction
- 1st in Product Direction (they also launched a neat mobile app!)
- 2nd in Ease of Learning
- 1st in Support
- 2nd in Usability
- 1st in Meeting Business Needs
- 2nd in Price Attractiveness
See it for yourself below.

Were you as surprised by the results as I was?
The most popular Social Media Management tools, Hootsuite and Sprout Social, did not rank 1st and 2nd on all of the user attributes. This shows that the most popular tools is not necessarily the best tool - especially if they slow down in making product improvements to meet users’ needs.
So don’t feel that you’re the only one who these tools don’t seem to fit - there’re plenty of people out there just like you!
If you are wondering whether a tool might better fit your need, whether it is Sendible, Sprout Social, Agorapulse, or another tool that wasn’t included in the comparison above, then give it a try. Do it.
Don’t stick with tools that suck because you owe it to yourself and your team to make the best decision that’d support your team’s growth.
Disclosure: To be fair, I’ve worked and written for Agorapulse before. It can be said that I owe my success to Emeric, the founder and CEO of Agorapulse, who gave me the opportunity to write for them and gain initial exposure to the world of Social Media. But I’ve written this based on facts and I’ve disclosed this so you know that I’m being transparent about it.
P.S. Last week, I conducted a quick survey to find out what are the common struggles you have with Facebook Advertising. A number of you said that despite spending money on it, you’ve no idea what’s working and how to make it work. So this week, I created a few videos to teach you how exactly to turn around your failing Facebook Ad Campaign and make it work for you.
